New Delhi: The Government of India is advancing semiconductor design innovation through the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme, with 23 chip-design projects sanctioned under its mission to build a strong domestic semiconductor ecosystem.

These projects, led by startups and MSMEs, focus on developing indigenous chips and System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for diverse applications including surveillance cameras, energy meters, microprocessor IPs, and networking.

Additionally, 72 companies have received access to industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools to enhance their chip-design capabilities.

Vervesemi Microelectronics: Strengthening India’s Semiconductor Self-Reliance

Among the companies driving this initiative is Vervesemi Microelectronics, a fabless semiconductor company established in 2017. Government-Approved Projects Under DLI and C2S Programmes

Through these initiatives, the company is committed to developing designed-in-India chips that foster technological self-reliance and strengthen innovation.

Vervesemi Microelectronics Roadmap: Targeting Production by 2026-27

The roadmap of Vervesemi Microelectronics includes multiple high-performance ICs and ASICs tailored for strategic applications:

  • BLDC Controller ASIC: Developed under the C2S Programme for small motor applications such as fans and appliances, with samples expected in 2026.
  • Precision Motor-Control ASIC: Approved under the DLI Scheme, this silicon targets EVs, drones, and industrial automation with sampling set for 2026.
  • Multifunction Data Acquisition ASIC: Designed for space and avionics with advanced machine learning features, engineering samples will be available in 2026.
  • Weighing Scale and Bridge Sensor ASIC: Designed for precision weighing and Force Touch devices, with engineering samples expected by late 2025.
  • Smart Energy Metering ASIC: Delivering ultra-accurate, high-speed energy measurement with predictive maintenance capabilities and Class 0.2S compliance, samples will be available by late 2025.
